Wind storm last night.

Winds in the '80s, pouring rain. Power went out about 1 AM or so. My brother took this photo this morning, it is about 3 miles from me. A little further down the road a huge tree fell across one of the sub-stations. Trees & power lines are down all over the island.

No damage here, but it took me a while to find my door mat this morning.

We have had several the last 10 days or so. This one was a bit different though, winds out of the south. We normally get them from the SE, so this hit hard in some areas normally protected.

Dad talked to one of our local helo pilots a couple hours ago. He had just inspected the transmission line corridor & he counted 33 mud slides.


It will be interesting to see what the total rainfall will be for this month.

Geez Barry, it seems amazing that your electricitiy was reconnected so fast. The grid where I live sucks. Anything over 10 mph wind speed can take out our power for that long.
