Wel..I have been fightign a vibration in my cuda.  After replacing the engien mounts (which moved the engien forward a good bit) and the trans mount, which resulted in replacing the driveshaft, I developed a vibration at 1500 rpm, bith in drive and in park (360/727).  :pullinghair:

I spent some time searchin thsi site and moparts for ideas on what to check.  One post mentioed to check the bellhousign bolts. after chckign a couple of other small no cost items on my list I found 3 of the 4 bolts were lose...one was finger tight. :swear: :stomp:

I took a quick test drive today and the vibration is gone!!!   :burnout:Maybe I can get a few more miles in befor the snow flies.

SO thanks for all the guys that respond to questiosn on this form.  I am not sure I would have thought to check those bolts.

So when you are checking stuff, don't forget to check the small things.

Eventually they would have worked their way far enough out to start banging on something, like the lower convertor dust shield, and that noise would point you to them right quick.

I used to own Taxis a few years back and did all my own repairs but I had a trans problem a fair way from home so let a local trans place recommended by other Taxi owners do the change over. Picked up the car and handed it over to the driver (friday night), early Sunday morning I got a phone call saying that there was a loud banging noise under car every time the driver tried to drive off. When I arrived I found that all the bolts holding the auto trans to the bellhousing were missing, BW35 behind Aussie Hemi 6cyl. Turned out that only 2 bolts had been fitted out of 6, fortunately I had some bolts in the bottom of the tool box and fitted them and no other damage done except Monday morning I nearly knocked the managers head off, I supplied another bellhousing and he fitted it, he wasn't even going to do that but I persuaded him. After inspecting the old bellhousing which they had hidden you could see that only 2 bolts had been used as the 4 other bolt holes were perfect whereas the 2 holes were mangled.   :villagers:
They lost a lot of business after that from us Taxi blokes and all we could tell.   :hyper:

That's great !!  Glad that's all it was. I'm fighting a bad vibe too. Wish it was that easy for me. I've been over every nut and bolt. About to yank the pumpkin, rebuild the rear end completely.   :pullinghair:

Earlier this year my son's 78 SE Regal 318/904 had a vibe in it.
Apparently.
I was only told after he'd broken a flex plate and went searching for why.
When I find only 2 bellhousing bolts (and they were loose) I asked him if there was any vibes.
He was wondering what would cause that :banghead:

I had a weird whining sound coming from my trans whenever I revved my motor. So I put it in neutral and popping the hood and revved it. I noticed the engine and trans were not moving with each other, 4 of the engine to trans bolts were loose and two were missing.
