« on: October 12, 2010 - 09:29:03 AM »
i have a question for you.

in 70 and 71, it is possible to order a cuda with a rimblow steering and without the rally cluster?

i ask it because all time i see a E body with a rimblow, he also  have the rally cluster in it too... it is coincidence ? or rimblow required rally dash for be ordered....

thanks

and a small poll. wich steering wheel do you prefer for e body?

I resemble that remark!  Tuff Wheel for me!  I've got an original one ready to go on mine when I redo the interior.

wow tuff wheel is in advance.. it is a surprise. if i had to bid on a winner before the poll start i had bid on the rim blow or the 3 spoke woodgrain, tuff wheel is not original on e body but a majority of people who answer to the poll answer tuff wheel..

so the poll continue...

This getting in/out easier with a tuff wheel is due to the fact that it's a 14 inch steering wheel?
I believe so, cause I've tried the tuff steering wheel of a friend's '71 Roadrunner in my Challenger and it was smaller than my 3 spoke woodgrain steering wheel.
Indeed I didn't knock my knees to that wheel, but it did block my view to the speedometer.
So does a tuff wheel help the big guys but not the tall ones (I am 6'8")?

The softer texture of the Tuff wheel feels nicer than the harsh wood/plastic.
With the repos the price is reasonable.

I greatly prefer the look of a rimblow steering wheel. I agree, though, that the larger wheels tend to cause problems with getting in and out of the car. I ended up installing a tilt steering column from IdidIt in my 71 Cuda and it has remedied the problem altogether.

i think like you... for the look, nothing can beat the luxury look of the rimblow with the 70 chrome fish  center cap. But with an reasonable price of the repro tuff wheel and the size..it is a good purchase... and the feeling of the tuff wheel is probably more sport with is smaller size... i think so.. i never drove a car with this steering... for my cuda i have the woodgrain 3 spoke, the 74 plastic 2 spoke and a rimblow.. but i drove many all time the rimblow...

I have the rim-blow after market knock off that is available now. I love it, but I want to mention something to those of you preferring a smaller diameter wheel...It makes steering more difficult if you don't have power steering, especially in parking lots.

I like the original 2 spoke. Nice clear view of the gauges. Had a 'Tuff' wheel type but I found myself trying to look around the wheel to see the gauges. :2cents:
