340 six pack set up? manifold # 3418681
« on: October 13, 2010 - 02:54:18 PM »
Hi everyone. About 3 years ago I picked up this six pack set up thinking I was going to put it on my cuda but I decided to go a different route. The guy I got it from said it was rebuilt about one year before I got it making it a 4-5 year old rebuild?
I do not know if it is a remake or oem? The base plate for the air cleaner does not have marks on it but it is metal.

Edelbrock manifold # 3418681

front carb# 3577185    top of carb reads #D-1565  6R 3406B

middle carb # 2839
list-4374

back carb # 3577185
list-4790
2582

The float? on the middle carb reads #6020

Here are some pics.

Thanks for any input you can give me.

Not sure what they are going for nowadays. I know a complete setup new is around $2k, I think I have seen used systems for around $1000.

If you are feeling charitable I have a good home for it

I am going to sell it I just don't want to misrepresent what it is and I want it to go to a good home. I think it needs needs to just be cleaned up and lubed and it should be ready to go.I even have new fel pro intake manifold gaskets for it.

Do you guys thinking asking $1400 for it might be unreasonable?

I might have my friend take it down to the fall fling coming up here in October in Woodley Park Van Nuys, CA to see if he gets any bites.

If the carbs have been sitting for 4+ years, the gaskets will most likely need to be replaced, but other than that, I would think $1,400 would be a real good price.  I imagine any buyer will do a full rebuild, just for their own piece of mind, so you should probably factor that in to the selling price.  I'd probably start the price up higher, and just slowly lower it until you get a sale.

I've had gaskets last 25+ yrs in a Holley 650 Double Pumper before they started to leak gas. Mostly stored 8 months of the year and the carbs were dry.

How many pounds does the 6 pack setup weigh?

Yes this set up is for a 340 small block. :2thumbs:
I wonder if it would fit a 360 ? I guess some one would have to mod the heads to fit?

Bolt straight on, 360 heads are basically the same as 340.     :burnout:

I just posted the manifold #3418681. I don't know if that will help me identify what I got here or not but I have a got someone offering $1500 for it as is. Do you guys think that is a good deal?

Robert I can hold on to it if you really want it? If it doesn't clear your engine compartment brace that you made for your cuda you could always send the brace to me. :stirpot:
