I need a Picture of Big Bloock Kickdown Linkage
« on: November 10, 2004 - 05:14:59 AM »
Since no one wants to buy it I guess I'll just have to finish it! Can anyone post a close-up picture of a Big Block, single 4bbl (preferable Holley) drivers side so I can see how the linkage is supposed to be attached to the carb?

3-piece I think . . . rod coming up off the tranny to a swivel that also has the clamp for the throttle & another rod off that to the carb.

I do not have a pic , there shoulkd be a U shaped pivot where the throttle clamp is & a straight bar forward to the carb , you need to use carb adapter Holley 20-7  for the carb & usually have to increase the length of the bar to the carb so that it is piushed fully back at wide open throttle

Dose the spring ID'd as 14 C-1 on your graphic hook onto the sliding rod to pull it forward or does it hook to the mounting stud coming off the carb?

Seems to me that it hooks to the stud but the rod isn't comingback forward on its own (I have to pull it) Is this something that resolves itself when the engine is running and the car is in gear?

Thats what I thought but with the spring hooked to the stud it is only serving as an additional throttle spring & isn't puling the rod back forward - and it aint coming back up on its own. Is this normal?

it should be hooked to the kickdown linkage & the carb stud to pull the linkage forward
