We turned our furnace on last week when it got down to like 38, woke up the next morning and it was like 46 inside.............Pam was rather upset cause I left a couple windows open.
Have any of you considered those Eden Pure electric heaters as a "support" source? Our house has three levels, bedrooms up with the kitchen etc. on the main level and a partially finished basement. We put one of the heaters on the bedroom level and one in the basement, the main level of course is where the furnace thermostat is located. Now both of these units are supposed to be capable of heating a 1000 sg.ft. area and we use them only when we are on that level, but basically one or the other was running around the clock during last winter. Also we have them set for about 1/3 of their output capacity,we also have a natural gas fireplace in the basement that is thermostat controled. Long story short we turned down the furnace thermastat to 68* since we use that level of the house the least and of course there are furnace runs throughout the house. Our AEP electric budget did increase $2.00 a month for this year, but our natural gas budget dropped to $24.56 a month as opposed to $155.56. Now I know that will not be a true budget amount for the natural gas, but we had a positive account balance of over $900.00+ last year. The electric units cost like $400.00 each, so in the first year of use they more than paid for themselves in the $900.00 positive account balance from Dominion East Oho Gas.
