Entertaining but needed more popcorn popping in the ending...  :2cents:
1972 Dodge Challenger Rallye 340, AT, Code TB3=Super Blue, SBD=8/17/1971.  Yes, a Rallye without the fender louvers from the factory because of the body side molding option.

I saw that on TV too, and I dont think they destroyed a valuable car. There were definitely some special effects involved there at the end.
At the same time I was flipping channels and caught a part of Jason returns (Friday the 13th fame) where one of the many idiot characters that got cut up was driving a grey primered 68 Charger.
Oh yeah, I watched for another 10 minutes just to see the car.
I would love to have that one. Dont care for Darts, but a 68 Charger definitely has a spot in my heart.

Never heard of the guy till now. Maybe if more people would read a book instead of watch such trash there wouldn't be a market for destroying  decent cars.

Why is it all these modern movies, TV hacks, etc. go out of their way to wreck old Mopars when Fords & Chevys outnumbered them 10 to 1 when they were new....  Why not find a Pinto for the commercial, He wouldn't have needed the fireworks to get the explosion he was after!! :ylsuper:

Are there any Pintos left?  I see one on the way home each day, but all the others in my area have been converted to circle-track racers.  The only one for sale locally on Craigslist is this one:

There are no Vegas or Monzas for sale locally, but there are six Darts and three Valiants.  Although, to be fair, there aren't any Volares or Aspens around, but there are plenty of Novas and Falcons, which were the more direct competitor to the Dart/Valiant.

A guy on my street has a pinto just sitting beside his garage for over 10 years now. I told one of the local stock car racers that was looking for one about it. He told me he went over to see if it was for sale. He was told no way, he was gonna "restore" it someday. :smilielol:  ya right the thing will rot to the ground first! Like who "restores Pinto's anyway? :eek7:

how about a little love for the Darts, and even the Pintos and Vega's of the world!
If a guy told me he wanted to restore some rusted old Pinto, I'd laugh too, but....
its probably of some sentimental value to him. Maybe he's had it for 40 years, or dated his wife with it.
My cuda often attracts guys at gas stations that tell me about some old mopar they would really love to own and restore, and many times the car I hear about is a Duster  :dunno:, which I dont understand, but everyone's got their memories.
My best friend still owns the 4 door Falcon he drove in college, and it was a piece of junk to me then! But we had fun with it.

Ah, yes, good ol' memories of the old Pinto.  My brother had an ESS model, blacked out trim, 4 spoke Magnum 500s and I think it had a V6 in it.  Peppy, but not fast.  There was a Pinto around here many moons ago with a Boss 302 engine in it, shaker hood scoop and all.  Nose heavy with the V8 as most of the engine was in front of the front wheels.

This looks like a fun ride!

That's actually kind of cool!  Didn't mean to pick on Pintos, just their reputation for exploding if hit from behind.  Reminds me of a favorite movie that made fun of the Pinto too:

and my favorite song in the movie:
