Man ... I hate mice!! Part 2
« on: October 21, 2010 - 09:33:20 PM »
About 12:15 am this mornin' the wife gives me the nudge. I roll over and as I do, I can hear it.... the garage alarm is going off! Errrrr ... I grab for my jeans and my .38 as the wife reminds me to grab the phone as the alarm co. call center will make contact in a few seconds. They call, I tell them dont send the cops I got it handled. I stagger outside accross the patio barefoot, narrowly missing the last load from my german shep before going to bed. I get to the garage, noticing no motion sensors are tripped.... I clear the alarm. Must have been a mouse I think and fall back into bed.

2:05 am.....  lets repeat the process. Now I'm really getting agitated. I'm barefoot , its about 40 degrees and it must have rained. Oh joy! I remembered I baited the garage the BIG GIRL is in, but NOT the one NIKKI's in. That being said rest assured I have never had mouse problems with my cars, A bed of charcoal under them really keeps the mice away! But the mice come inside because its gettin cold out around here at night. And theres plenty of other things to chew on inside the garage.

6:45 am I'm on a quick hunt before going to the shop. I'm poking around between the HEMI parts pile and the workbench. And the little bastard jumps right out in front of me and under the workbench. You little SOB! I bait the garage and go down to the shop.

5:50 pm I get home and check the garage. None of the bait's been touched.  :swear:  :stomp:  :pullinghair:  :banghead:

I'm breaking out the 12ga tonight...................

 :smilielol:  made me laugh!
I'm thinking it's gonna be a hard winter. We noticed the little monsters chewing food in our cupboards. So I set 4 traps, a little cheese with some peanutbutter on them. I have caught 6 mice and one mole this week for Pete's sake! :stomp: Never had this many , and so soon ? Maybe I should look into getting a cat? :smilielol:...nahhh my dog would just try to hump it? :roflsmiley:

Whenever the Springtime earlier is lush, the fall rodent populations rise. So this fall like where I'm at is higher in Rats. We don't get mice. Just huge Rats coming out of the mountains nearby travelling into the town via the Creeks leading nearby into Town.

Do rats go into cars as much as mice?  :clueless:

They make nests but as far as I have found out they don't chew up stuff like Mice do.

Geesh, I feel for you.  Bullitt99  (wade) gave me a 89 dodge dually diesel 1 ton that his dad used to have for an apliance delivery truck. They retired it over 10 years ago next to their buisness. In the grass to. Field mice ate the under hood padding, Chewed on A/C wiring, Left headlight wire harness to the light, and the water in fuel sensor wires. Took about a half day to repair.   I know it really sucks to have those critters chewing up a hemi vert.

Now I'm trapping a skunk. We have a dozen or so running through the neighborhood. So far, I have had 2 of them under my house. I set a trap this afternoon when I got out of the hospital.

Get your problem knipped in the butt real soon or you will have 50 of those mice running all around

To get rid of them and birds too. Start your lawn mower up with the choke half on and let it run for about 20 minutes with doors closed. It will get them to move out or die. Run it once a day for 3 or 4 days you should have no more getting up alarms. You can put cyjan pepper in there too shake it all around the inside edge of the garage and by the doors.

Mine does the same!  I do think he is just playing with it though? He doesn't have the same look in his eyes anyway?
Mine is a mixed breed Cocker Spaniel and Maltese. I love it when people ask "awww what breed is he"   I answer "cocktease"  :smilielol: It usually gets a laugh!

I used to work at a datacenter downtown and the parking lot backed up to one end of the old Underground Atlanta.  One night getting off at midnight I walked into the lot and right in front of me was the biggest rat I've ever seen in my life.  I'm guessing 30-35 lbs at least.  The thing just turned and looked at me as I walked toward it and my car.  It very slowly started walking away, keeping its eyes locked on me.  Mean looking critter for sure!

My problem at home now is chipmunks.  They are EVERYWHERE and boring under our front steps, our retaining walls, our driveway, EVERYWHERE.  Anybody have any luck getting rid of these things?  If so, let me know how you did it.
