The new logo is perfect !    Tough call on the engine. Out of the two,I liked the way the second one looks like it's glowing in there. Might even loose the chrome "easter egg" alternator. The first one is well balanced though. I'm doin black fabbed covers on the dusters 360 too.  I see arp is making bolt kits for them in black and stainless.  Both are cool enough that voting was too hard for me.  :faint:

I think I'd like the single color engine more if it wasn't orange in black. Don't get me wrong; I love Halloween though

here's a couple more variations.

this is the all orange version but with just the fabbed valve covers.

and with black cast covers:

good to know that simply changing the valve covers looks good if the all orange gets too much or if i want a change.

oh, and the motor will have 440 source serpentine belts and billet pulleys, and a denso alternator (not chrome).

cheers!

I like how the black valve covers look. Still no frills, looks very clean/crisp, yet the black just ties it to the rest of the car.

Definitely all orange. Its a murdered out exterior, and when you pop the hood, all about the engine.
Great photoshop work, of course.

The black covers help tone it down.cool braces ...   You thinkn black pulleys/brackets? Chops really let you play with it first.

When I looked at your first two chops, I liked 'em both but was leaning towards the all-orange.  At the same time, I was thinking "Black chrome valve covers would pull it all together."  Looking at the black covers, I'm sold - that's the way I'd go.  :2thumbs:

I am NO help here.   :grinno:

You could make a case for any picture you posted. I think the voting reflects that. In any case, I'm not a huge fan of fabricated valve covers, but they seem to look good in black.   :2cents:

I liked the alloy and also the black....

IMO and it's just that I like a little contrast.
The all orange does not look bad, what ever way will look good  :2thumbs:

cheers for the feedback guys!

well i've painted the whole motor orange, including an old set of valve covers as a test.
it looks cool, but not orange enough...   i'm sure the paint (por hemi orange engine enamel) is accurate,
and when i take a photo of the motor it looks nice and saturated (with saturation set to neutral on the camera).
so i'd need to either live with it or look into a brighter, more saturated, orange paint.
which i think might be tricky to pull off.

so with all that in mind, here's another option!

black block with black radiator, valve covers and headers.

this was what i was originally thinking of doing, before i started thinking orange.
i saw a 67 cuda with the engine bay like this a while ago, and remember thinking it looked awesome.

what do you guys think?

this would be easier to achieve, look great, and stay looking great longer!

cheers!
aaron

Honestly, with all the other black and flat, I think it works well.

Gives it a real sinister feel.  Really completes the black package.

I would probably make the air cleaner lid black and write something small in orange myself. Just to give one small color in the bay.

Looks good though.
