it is a 1969 383 block which is original from his car and the customer wanted it used.
it was already bored 040 so now it will be 060, and i think he said it will be 438 cubic inchs?
my boss prefers to use the stock reworked forged 440 cranks because we are a shop and its easier, plus they end up much lighter than the ordered chinese cranks which is free power. we do alot of dodges so its easy for us, the kit maybe easier for you ?
it has eagle h beam rods, and diamond flat top forged pistons which work out to 10.4 to 1 for pump gas with the aluminum heads.
it has mildly ported stealth heads by me(its my job) that the customer supplied, comp cams steel rocker arms, and a comp cams solid flat tappet.
the head hardware is changed to comp cams spring etc.
it has an edlebrock rpm intake but i dont know what carb will be used yet on the dyno ?
the boss says it will make between 525hp to 550hp on the Dyno, and he is usually bang on right.
i asked him and he said its ok to put this info here, but the cam i do not know exactly because he gets it custom done, but he said power range is 2500 to 6000rpm with top power at 5500rpm.
he gave me one of those looks, but also said ok to put a dyno sheet when its done, but we are way behind so it will be 2 or 3 more weeks ? i dunno ?
the dyno sheet will have the customer name blacked out.

Thanks again for posting this, and I'm definitely looking forward to you posting the HP & TQ numbers when you get them.  Both my 383 blocks are currently std. bore so I'm hoping not to have to go more than .030 over saving some life in the block.  I much prefer a non-Chinese solution for the stroker setup, but have definitely decided on the imported Stealth heads if I build a stroker B or RB.  I'm not sure what your customer's goals are for his engine, but mine are pretty close to max performance while still maintaing reliability on the street.  So would also be interested where additional HP & TQ could be built into the motor with other options, etc.

Those are great prices!  Unfortunately, I just blew my hotrod budget on a rebuilt 69 B Body 4.10 Dana 60 for the Roadrunner.  So the engine is going to have to wait until at least early next year.  That's not necessarily a bad thing since I can't seem to decide which direction to go.

No, Its just that I'm willing to spend the extra $$ to beef up the bottom end, etc. so I'm not back at the engine shop in a year or two.  Mileage-wise, I bet I won't put more than 3k or so miles per year, its more the ability to spin the engine to redline from time to time without worry.

the 400 is more desireable to build than the 440 / 383
