Not much left of that car it appears.  Would of liked to have seen some close ups of the car afterwards . .  :screwy:

1972 Dodge Challenger Rallye 340, AT, Code TB3=Super Blue, SBD=8/17/1971.  Yes, a Rallye without the fender louvers from the factory because of the body side molding option.

I'm personal friends with the guys that built that car (Underground Racing). These guys are building cars that make on average 1500 plus rwhp. That must have been one hell of a ride.

Have they nailed down the cause or was it pure driver error?  Looks like maybe the drag shoot wasn't set up correctly since he lost directional stability right after it was deployed.  Maybe it pulled to one side or lifted the back end or who knows....  Glad the driver lived to race another day.
