« on: October 26, 2010 - 04:21:50 PM »
What are the pros and cons? How do you guys like them? Are they metal or plastic? Visability? Cooler inside the car?

I have them, love them! Mine are aluminum re pops. Easy to clean the rear window , just pull the pins and it flips up. It does keep the sun out of the rear window. Member Chryco ( Neil) sells them! Visibility is no problem!

I have had both the ABS plastic and aluminum versions. No real vision problems. The aluminum look better, but they are more money, so it's a matter of choice and wallet.

I remember calling JC Whitney like 6-7 years ago about thiers (plastic) ad they had the ABS for like $139...only 3 left.  They are long gone now...   :-[  Should've gotten a set as the metal ones are  :money:

Here's what the plastic look like: http://www.sfxperformance.com/parts/AST1027.htm

If you have the $$$, the metal ones look better IMO.  Plastic ones are cool though.

Do you drill into the body to install them or something else?

Yes you do. I used nutserts ( same thing you use to attach door mirrors) stock just uses a sheet metal screw.

The factory method for installing them was with nutserts as mentioned above.  I sell the louvers too on my site.
