1970 440 Challenger R/T - SOLD
« on: October 28, 2010 - 08:50:23 AM »
One year only 440 magnum with auto trans. 1,886 produced.
Numbers matching JS23U0B fitted with six pack. All numbers on the engine/trans/body are present and correct.
Originally B5 blue with white top/interior and white bee stripe.
Now painted V2 Hemi orange with black top/interior. T/A type spoilers added.
Fender tag present. No Broadcast sheet.

Looking for £29,000 (aprox $43,500).
Car is located in England, United Kingdom. I have the contact details for a good shipping company and also a contact for European delivery by road.

VERY well known car around the world. I have owned it since 1989 when I had it imported to the UK from Texas. US Title present.

Lots of modifications mainly for handling and performance. Nothing that couldn't be put back to stock if that is your thing. But the list of high quality parts fitted to this car is too long to place in this ad. Basically Hughes Engines iron heads and solid cam. 10.5:1 compression. GV overdrive. Painless wiring. 4.30 rear gears (effectively 3.30:1 with overdrive). Interior fake woodgrain replaced with real carbon fibre.

The whole car is tuned to perfection. Drives almost like a stocker (except for lumpy 850rpm idle) Runs low 12s.  Corners like it is on rails. Top speed about 145mph (rpm limited). About 85,000 miles showing on the speedo which makes the average mileage over the last 20 years about 1000 miles per year. But it has been stored for at least half that time.

The only problem being it now has one cracked head which leaks water externally (not into the engine).
The crack is in the usual place. Just under the two center exhaust ports.
I plan to get this welded sometime during December. It still drives fine as it is but the water needs topping up every 100 miles or so as a result of the crack.

If you are a serious potential buyer and need more details on the car please e-mail me at d.j.robson@ncl.ac.uk or challenger440@blueyonder.co.uk

I will not be accepting lower offers at this time but part exchange considered. I may keep the car if I can't get the price. It's going to break my heart selling it if I am honest. :violin: :(

I gotta say, that's one beautiful Challenger. I never thought about Minilites, but they sure make the car.  Absolutely stunning.  Perfect combo w/ the orange paint & T/A spoiler. Hate to see you sell it, but I'm in the same boat.  Best of luck...

Looks great!

Mind if I ask where you got the dash/console covers? Were they bought and installed, or were they custom pieces?

I'm doing the same to my 'Cuda and I'd be upset if I had something made that I could have just bought. :\

I made them from one sheet of carbon formed in a high gloss resin under intense heat and pressure. Very nice gloss and finish to it. Reflects light like a hologram.
