71 340 cuda $12k
« on: October 30, 2010 - 04:13:46 PM »
I put a collection together of all photos plus several i just took here:
http://Http://s1194.photobucket.com/albums/aa380/mikecuda/

So, many of you read about all the drama with this one. Short story is I paid WAY too much for this and don't have the heart to sink more into it. So, because people were good to me here I'll post the car here, asking 12k. I am available most saturdays if you want to take a look at it (i'd encourage that ). Please email me with questions michael dot emond at gmail dot com. I'll get some pictures up and link to them. If it doesn't sell here after a few months I'll stick it on ebay and see how it does. Anyway it was delivered today and is sitting in my storage unit in southern nh. Here is what the previous owner advertized as (with some corrections or additions that he somehow forgot to mention). I have not touched the car aside from getting it off the truck and into storage.

1971 Cuda - Mopar B5 blue in and out,
340, auto, power steering, (currently has a tired 318 and bad tranny but drives)
power brakes, disc brakes, bucket seats,
column shift, factory AIR Conditioned '71 Cuda,
needs restoration work,
No grill, runs and drives as is,
Only saw one quarter sized hole of rust through  (I was told it was 99% rust free- that's just wrong but it is very solid even underneath.
Great Cuda for a 1971 440 or 426 Hemi clone
project car or a full 340 original restoration.
What it is is a REAL 1971 BS23 H1B Cuda
with the original gilled fenders and
it's a factory air car and
still has the original paint job on the car.
This is an original California Cuda,
What you see is what you get,
a super solid California E-body with a
BS23 code in a 1971 H1B body.

So you'll definately need to do something about the engine and transmission and the body has several spots that will need attention. Lots of parts are in the car and trunk but I havent gone through them to see what all is there. I'll try to post more later on. Thanks for looking.
Mike

I'm sorry to see that it had to come to this. I feel badly for you, but I understand wanting to cut your losses. I've gotta say that you've held yourself as a very upstanding and quality individual throughout this entire ordeal. Best of luck with the sale.

Hi. Sorry yes there is a fender tag and door sticker that I have photos of. I will post them as soon as I get to work tomorrow.  The car and I are both in Amherst NH near Manchester and Nashua. Thanks for your interest.

You have two Cuda's?  Picture number eight looks like a different tailpanel.

Hi. Yes. All the pictures were taken by the Guy I bought it from. I took a video of it coming off the truck to prove that it runs but didn't know how to post it here. I didn't take any pictures myself though. According to the trucker that delivered it to me the Guy had 3 or 4 of them. I'll try to find a way of getting that video online as it shows the under side as well.
Thanks
mike

Here's the video that I took on saturday when it was being driven off the transport...

If that was a picture that the guy sent you, then it wasn't a picture of the same car.  Picture number eight does not have the Dealer Tag on it.

The video did excite me a little bit.  Taking delivery off a truck is great.  But with your circumstances, I'm sure you didn't feel the same way that I did.

Wow, did you really pay $32k for it?

So sorry, but I think for $12k, that is definitely a good deal for someone.

Too bad you didn't ask us for advice on what to pay for it initially.  We would have told you that it was at least $16k too much.  Ya win some, you lose some.
