Does anyone need a car delivered from Oregon / Washington area to anywhere near Idaho, Montana, Wyoming, South Dakota, Nebraska, North Dakota? The price would be cheap as I'm only looking to help offset some fuel costs if I go pick my Cuda up. I would prefer to take my flatbed trailer, but I can take my enclosed trailer if you need your car covered.

I do not do this professionally, however I'm fully insured and even have an umbrella policy to cover things my standard insurance doesn't.

Let me know....

Thanks!

*** UPDATE****

Ever since I've posted in this thread what happened to me I've been contacted by several others who say they have been scammed by Jim.  A google search of Jim Jarzabek truly vintage brings up more scams threads by others who feel they were taken advantage of and lied to.  I just got off the phone with the latest guy who claims Jim has taken him for $6,000.  I say claims as I've don't know both sides of the story.  However, looks like the FBI is getting involved with Jim's way of doing business and I might have to relive this whole experience in great detail as I give my statement.

I see Jim has been banned from many other Mopar sites including this one, but he's still on Moparts and a few others as a "site supporter".  When I try to help others on Moparts by posting what happen to me, they magically get removed.

PEOPLE, beware when using Jim Jarzabek at Truly Vintage.  I now feel lucky to have only lost my time and money money.....

Yes, the body shop where my car was left really helped out and I did get the car delivered the rest of the way.

Just trying to help others out as this wasn't fun for me.

Good to hear you got the car eventually. Good for you for posting the warning! I feel the same way about DAS shipping! Kinda bugs me that Moparts seems to be " sweeping this under the carpet" . Money does bad things sometimes ?

Not what you wanna hear but about 5 years ago I didn't pay that much for my Challenger being picked up in Kentucky & delivered to Vancouver covered.  Passport Transport is pretty hard to beat.

Cody, I talked to you at Woodburn this year.  I'm the guy in the wheelchair.  Remember me asking about putting an automatic in a Viper?

We sort of took care of that.  My wife totaled her '03 Sport Hemi Ram 2wd & we replaced it with an '05 SRT 10.  I sold my '71 'cuda a couple weeks ago so I get the truck & the wife takes my Magnum.   :cooldancing:

I just haven't gotten used to the sound of a V10.

lol, ya V10's sound odd with stock cats and resonators.   They need to breath!   :2thumbs:  Good job with the V10 SRT truck.

Just found this post.
:22yikes: What a nightmare that has been for u.
Problem one the car is in pieces don't drive.  Top transporters will not handle dismantled cars.

:eek2:  Cost :swear: What a scumbag.  Time of transport foul weather didn't help. And going to Fargo. OMG. thats like going to the north pole.
I paid 1600  transport for my Convertible from CA. to Maryland in inclosed trailer 5 days delivery. It was in December
2008.

I recall someone posting few month ago buying a dismantled car and going after it on their own.
Haven't seen any feedback on his adventure.
U may get a little pocket money after u restore the 71 and it will be more valuable if u sell it. We hope.

Sometimes it's just better to do a face to face transaction and pick it up yourself and tow it home.

Cody - I ran into problems once when I was building my airplane. Looking for an engine and ran into a crook. Fortunately I am cautious. So long story short ...... I ended up talking to the FAA in Portland OR and they brought in your IRS department. So make sure the IRS knows this A..hole is taking cash for services IE he ain't paying the Obama portion. There is a fellow that delivers airplane kits all over the US &  Canada. He will take cars. He can be found on www.vansairforce.com He is straight up. I think his name is Terry.

Thank you for the help and advice everyone.

It still amazes me that this thread continues to find it's way out to the public.  I've received two more messages / emails from people that have had similar experiences with Jim.  How in the world is this guy allowed on other boards like Moparts?

:iagree:
If the FBI is involved, then most of your bases are covered.  But the following are more options:
You can contact the Department Of Transportation for fraud as he  delivered your car to the wrong location, out of malice.
Also, since the communications were via email, you can file a complaint with your State Police Department.  They have an Internet Fraud Department.
If you used the mail, your can contact the Post Master General and file a complaint.  They do not screw around.
All this includes the money he owes you for your original payment and/or the cost to have it get to your door.
Lastly, if you have an Attorney friend, hit'em up.
