Wow, I just came across this BS with Jim after feeling bad for the poor dude getting hosed on the 'cuda...
I almost used him to transport a 68 GTX ~350 miles until he added a bunch of BS charges that racked it up to almost $2/mile.
Bringing this back up in hopes it keeps someone else from getting the shaft from the guy.
Too bad Moparts won't axe him.

Any update on the 'cuda, Cody?

Ya, he's in Moparts pocket $ and pays them nicely to screw with members.  I've heard some nasty things about him and customers just keep letting him get away with it.  Anyone who uses Jim with TrulyVintage to ship a vehicle is taking a BIG CHANCE.

The Cuda is going to be restored soon.  Just have to finish the new shop.

Wow! I had no idea Jim (Truely Vintage) was such a douch. Please keep the word spreading! I think he asked for the extra 1,000 to cover his truck repair AND because he didn't have a 2nd car to put on his trailer from Fargo to you in WA (losing money with a half full trailer). He wanted out of the deal. I used Jim a little over a year ago to haul 2 cars back from Cal. All went well. I paid something like $2850 which I thought later was a rip off, because I found other carriers that would haul a pair for a lot less. Anyway, I have seen Jim's truck, it's a 20 year old Ford Powerstroke POS that must have a billion miles on it! No way I would drive that thing across country! and he's pulling a massive super heavy trailer to boot. I think he lives and sleeps in the thing. I don't recall seeing any transport logo on the side , so I think he is trying to completely run under the radar from the IRS and DOT. I have learned a lot more about shipping since then and unless you have a commercial carrier license (which I doubt he has) he is risking getting a big fine and having YOUR car impounded until he pays the fine!

Wow I'm glad I was careful in picking an outfit to drag my beast across the country. Mine went from Tampa FL, to San Jose CA.

Intercity Lines was very good with communication, amazing trucks(air ride, covered, babied), great drivers. The only downside is that I had to wait a bit longer than expected because of the haul (not usually done). Not their fault just had to be more patient.

Overall, great experience and Jay Leno uses them for all his rides.

To this day I still get people calling that have been burned or know of someone that has been burned by Jim Jarzabek.  I'm just passing information along and not making any statements about Jim as of today.  Maybe he has changed his ways of doing business as of late?

Anyhow, this guy called me this morning and spoke about Jim, later I get this email.... (I've left out his name and contact info.  Contact me if you need to get a hold of this guy that knows a lot about Jim).

"Cody,

Good making contact despite the terrible experience of dealing with Jim Jarzabek which has brought us together.....

I sat down this weekend and spent many hours documenting the four years I called Jim my friend.  I know now that my trust in him was flawed and I really had my own selfish interests at heart.  It was a big life lesson.

Please use me as a reference to anyone who calls or emails you about Jim Jarzabek.  I’m in the unique position of knowing him so long that I know where many of the “skeletons” are buried.

The biggest issue in my book is his ex-wife and 4 minor children he skipped out on owing hundreds of thousands of dollars in child support.

I’m not belittling your trials, tribulations and monetary loss.   I feel that all things spring from ones character, or lack of it.  That is where Jim fails.  He has poor moral character.

Here is my contact info:"

Wow, I just found this thread. This clown (trulyvintage) is still begging for transports on Moparts (I recently joined there as well). I was considering asking him for a transport quote. I am so glad I read this. This should be a sticky so everybody knows about him. He has also been banned from several other car sites for screwing over customers.

Glad you did a little research and found out what he's done to people before hiring him.  Most people that have a bad experience with him do not say anything.  I've posted my detailed (exact emails) and experience with him on Moparts, but it got removed fast because he pays to be a site supporter.

After reading this thread, I Googled Jim Jarzabek of Trulyvintage & was shocked at how many other sites he has been banned from or drummed off. I am also rethinking my membership to Moparts. Covering up for Jarzabek shows a complete lack of integity on the part of the owner of the site. Cody, you should be commended for trying to warn people.

Wanted to bump this back up, even though it has been a couple of years. Good Car Guys need to be aware when they are searching for a transporter that scammers like Jim Jarzabek of Trulyvintage are out there. He has other alias', Freighter Jim is one of them. Read at least page 6 & 7 of this post!

This was several years ago! I bumped it backup because this clown Jim Jarzabek @ Trulyvintage continues to screw over his transport customers. Didn't want anybody to make the mistake of using him!
