dont forget the connection now to Ferrari too. :poopoke: :stirpot:
I think I'm with the majority here in suggesting the challenger should go on a serious diet. It needs to be lighter, and smaller in almost all dimensions. In my opinion it should especially be at least 4-6 inches lower. Losing about 500 pounds and picking up the new 6.4 would make it a true modern muscle car that would be competitive, but that will never happen.
Frankly, if they made a cuda it would be assembled on the same line, and I think overall they would increase sales, though of course it would cut into challenger sales.
But I actually hope they dont produce one. If I want a 71 cuda lookalike the parts are out there to do it myself.

It'd be interesting, but the Challenger isn't doing so hot as it is in the competition. They need to get that Challenger ironed out cost/performance wise before worrying about much else. Or we'll have another 4 year production on our hands  :eek4:

Common Sense maybe ,  which most big business doesn't have...

The new challenger already looks more like a cuda than a challenger.

One of the replies stated:

'A new Cuda would simply be a Challenger with different badging, just like it was in the 70s'

Goes to show you never really notice the differences unless you own/want one.

...my bet, it will be the "MOPAR CUDA"...spin off a completely separate performance division with the "MOPAR Viper", "MOPAR Challenger" and the "MOPAR CUDA"

...they have already tested the name "MOPAR Challenger"

Smart money would be if they chose a different platform for both the Challenger & a Cuda, make it more like a Muscle Car than a Hot Rodded saloon then it will be able to compete with the other 2 offerings.   :burnout:
Definitely don't even mention that word fiat.   :villagers:

As one or two others have already said, " I WILL BUY ONE!!".  Hear that Chrysler?  I'm already looking at a Dodge Ram possibly later this year.  Come out with a Mopar Cuda (Like this best) in the next year or two and my bank is going to love me!  BUILD IT!!!!

Any word on platform?  i think having a twin to the new challenger would only steal sales away.  now, if it was a different platform, but still had agressive appearance, and performance to boot, i think the market might respond.  I liked the idea of the chrysler crossfire when it came out, but it was missing something in performance.  say something that could go up agains the new M1?

Yes, you are probably the only one here at the "Cuda-Challenger.Com" website that doesn't want a modern-day Cuda.  I wonder why that might be ...  :poopoke:

Hey, there is something about the older cars that CAN'T be reproduced.  There is an essence, a vibe.  The new Challenger, while neat, is just a modern copy of the old car.  I don't care to see a modern bloated version of my old classic car running around.

I'd much rather see somthing NEW and innovative come out of Chrysler rather than just making a modernized copy of a classic car.

Chrysler could care less about the heritage. Their goal is to make money wherever they can. They knew that to sell the new Challenger, it had to look like a Challenger and be called Challenger. If they had made it look like a Challenger and then called it a Dodge Sopporo, the car wouldn't have sold. If it had looked like a Nitro for example and they called it a Challenger it wouldn't have sold.
Cuda is another name that they can exploit to sell cars. Guess what. It will work...at least with me...because I'll definitely buy one to sit right there next to my 1971 Cudas. I just hope it resembles a 71 more so than a 70. I love the 71 grille, fender gills and taillights.
As for building my own Cuda conversion using a new Challenger, I just don't think it would be as cool as a factory built piece.
