How do you tell a real TA hood from one of the many reproductions?

I don't know that there's one answer to this. Might be, but if there is, I don't know it.

I do know that many of the repro hoods don't have the screens at the back, and none of the originals are reinforced as some of the repros are.

The underside on an original is really rough...I have a repop and it's finished nice underneath. Here is mine, dust and all .

True I've seen those ones too David, mine does have the screens though and the steel reinforcements in the hinge area

Brad,

Do you run a six pack style air cleaner with the seal that butts up to the hood? Thanks.

Yep, I got it from  http://www.hybrid-fiberglass-solutions.com/home.html
I wanted to run a single 4 barrel. I had the custom air cleaner decal made up, I have spares if you need one?
