Here is one if I can get the picture to load. :rebel:
Mark

Thanks! That looks great!   Where did you get yours?

Looks like the hood is body color and then the scoop is black? I assume its a whole hood, not just the scoop added to a flat hood?

Shandango,
It came on the car, but I'll do a little homework if you think you might be interested in one like it.
The guy I bought it from had quite a few mopars.
And race parts.
Oh, BTW the hood is all black.

Have any more pics that show the hood?   Is it one of the hoods that have a metal reinforcement and bolts to the stock hinges?

Shandango,
It has 4 post pins and 2 hood wires.
I have a couple more pictures I'll try to send?

Thanks for that photo. Looks like its a lift off, right?

I am looking for photos of the ones that use the stock hinges.....

I dont think my old back could handle having to lift the hood off...LOL

4 Helium Ballons on a string in each corner of the hood should lift it! lol

Here's mine on a 73, using stock hinges and lighter springs.  You'll have to excuse the 69 Chebby

I think you should get one of these from AAR Quality Fiberglass.

#1102LOH Cuda Shaker hood with bubble attached (Fits 1970-74) L/O $599.00

A friend of mine has one ant it looks great. It is the shaker look without the shaking.

Sorry no pics of his and I don't see a pic on their web site either.
I did notice that you want one with hinges. The one I'm talking about use to have a bolt on hood that they use to list on the website. Yo may have to call them to see if it is still available.

What is on yours?  Looks like there is a scoop on the one in your sig pic....??

What stock options are you talking about?   Far as I know there is:

-flat hood
-rally (non functional) hood
-AAR hood
-shaker hood

Yes, the above are all correct hoods for a Cuda.  I think where the confusion comes in, is in reference to a "Six Pac" hood.  If you look closely at a few of the pictures, you will see where some of the guys have put a different, "Six Pac" hood on their Cuda's which was not a stock option and therefore I recommend against it because I just think one of the four stock hoods look and fit the car better.

As to what hood I have, mine is an original Challenger TA Hood which is not the same as a Six Pac hood.

The T/A hood is just a stones throw away design-wise from a six pack hood, far as I can tell....the "snorkels" of the scoop are longer and reach further forward, and you have the cowl vents.

I would actually like YOUR hood on my car...but know that isnt possible.

I dont care for the "stock" options and am not worried about it being "correct"...as I mentioned, the Rally hood looks nice but nets me not real gains (I want to go with something functional) plus its common.   The AAR hood is not my bag.........and the shaker hood, while cool looking, is not very functional plus the cost to do it sucks, not to mention it covers the beauty of the engine IMHO when the hood is up.  The fake shakers...well, they look too fake to me...its obvious they arent shakers when you look at them....

They make a 3" tall cowl induction style hood for the fish, but I like the aggressive "scoop" look....plus it might ,ake the fish look too much like a cheby...LOL

I really like the look of 73440cuda's car.....wonder how it would look in black.

Shadango, it's a heavy duty re-inforced hood from US Body.  Not to sure if you can make out the under side from the pic.  The holes had to be cut out for the scopp as well as the slots for the vents on the firewall.  I used an old end milling bit from a machine shop I worked at.  I also trimmed down my hood latch spring so it didn't put to much pressure on the hood when closed.  My Hilborn scoop lines up perfectly with the openings in the hood.  It fit perfectly.

Thanks! That open area under the hood looks way bigger that the actual scoop.... :clueless:

Any chance you have any pics of details like the slots you cut out, hingle mount points, latch mount poits,  edges and how they line up etc?

Did you have any issues with the hood lining up right with the fenders and front header panel, etc?

Does it lay nice and even with the stock metal?

(Hope you dont mind my asking for more....)

73440cuda, can we also see a side picture of the car with the hood down?  I have never seen a modifed TA hood (non 6 Pac) on a Cuda before, but I think I like it!  And yes, I too think it would look good in flat black.

ps: now that I think more about it, it looks similar to the "TA" style hood on the NEW Challengers.
