    Vairable Speed Wiper Switch

    I'm putting my Challenger back togeather and upon installing the variable speed wiper switch noticed that I don't seem to have anything to connect to a male connecter on the switch.  It is a single "spade" or pin, at the 3:00 O'clock position when viewed from the drivers seat.  It is "hot" anytime the ignition switch is on and is not required to run the wipers.  They run fine, variable and all, except they do not self park.  I don't believe  this is related to the connecter in question.  I've  attached a picture taken from the top of the dash that shows the pin standing alone  on the right side of the switch ,see red arrow on second picture.  I cannot find an explanation in my manual.  Anyone with answers?  PK

    Slotts told me it's for cars with the remote washer button switch like the chargers.

    The wipers won't park unless the wiper motor AND the switch are both grounded.  So you might try using a couple of wires with alligator clips on them and grounding both the switch and the motor.  If it still doesn't park, the problem is under that disk on the front of the motor. And, as the others said, that pin on the switch is left unused on your car.

    Thanks FY1Cuda for the advice on grounding.  In my haste to check out some "loose ends" I did not check for grounding.  The wiper motor has a nice new grounding strap but with all new paint on the firewall it may not have a contact.  I'll check it out.  I had the unit out and cleaned and lubed it several months ago and I seem to remember it parked ok on the bench.
