New Super Stock Hood
« on: November 14, 2010 - 02:38:16 PM »
I just put on my new Mr. Norms Super Stock hood and i'm quite please how it looks. I'm curious to what you guys think??? I'm leaning toward painting it organisol, i'm open to any suggestions. Does anyone know if they make decals like the A-12 lift off hood cars for the scoop that say 370 hemi or just hemi??? I like the type of writing that the orignal decals use.

Guess you won't be driving in the rain now? For a car with EFI, I can't see the reason in wanting it. Multi carbed, high intake: Yes definitely useful.

Sorry I don't like it. Looks better on a wider body like a B body.  :2cents:

What's it look like underneath the hood? Meaning the backside of the hood? Does it direct the air to a cold air intake or something? Mike's comment got me to thinking/wondering?
Any pictures of that? :picture:

To answer your questions its completely functional and open underneath. It just pushes cool air into the engine compartment, not directly into the CAI. This week they are supposed to be releasing a plug/cap for the opening if you don't wan't to run with it open. This is not my daily driver so the car will never see rain unless unexpected. I bought it for looks, nothing more. I opted for the functional version since i wont be driving in the rain

I like the idea of doing it organisol with the HEMI call outs on the side of the scoop. It would make it look a lot more old school

If you're going to paint it, you need to paint the header panel too.  That will make the hood look longer like the origonal design. :2cents:

I sent you a PM. Get ahold of Challenger Gary for the board. He has done several one off decals for me. The guy works wonders with vinyl!!!

Here's what I did with mine.  It's 100% functional ram air, no water issues either.  Picked up a bunch of hp, car runs 110mph in the 1/4 mile now.
