    Greetings,

      My name is John and I recently purchased a 1970 Cuda. I have waited for roughly 27 years to get my hands on my dream car. I also have a 74 Duster and my wife rocks a 08 SRT8 Challenger. The reason I have joined this site is I truly could use some help with my Cuda project. My Duster is my go car and the Cuda is going to be “our” show car. My wife loves car shows and I finally got my dream car, so I figured I’d mix the two and we could share in this hobby. Now, let’s begin with the advice.

    This car was born as a Jamaican Blue 340 Cuda, which is still Jamaican Blue but now holds a 440 Six Pack. I have the original 340, and transmission, but plan on storing those items away and building this car as a 440 Cuda clone. I further plan on changing the color from blue to Sassy Green. I don’t plan on selling this car, but don’t want to totally crush the value by doing the above changes. My other concern is how well will a cloned 440 Cuda show versus the original 340 setup? My goal is to create the best show car I can and hopefully the members here could help me out.

    Welcome!  Lets see some photos!

    If it were me, I would keep it blue (LOVE BLUE CUDA's) and keep the 340 in it.  Number matching will also be worth the most.

    Welcome to the board... I'm not into the showing thing but think I've seen enough green & purple e-bodies, as for what shows best I guess it depends on what class your looking to be in.

    Painting it green and keeping the 440 is a fine idea . . . you can always put it back to original if you want.  Doesn't sound like you plan on selling it anytime soon so do what you like as it's your car!  My convertible was orange when it came off the line and white when I bought it.  Now it is a nice shade of purple as that is what I wanted.  I say go for it and make what you want!!   :thumbsup:

    I do not plan on selling this car ever, I waited 27 years to get one. I just wanted to build a winner. My Duster can hold her own on the street or the track and the Cuda will show those Stang lovers, 69 Boyz, and the Mighty Vett owners what a truly white hot ride looks like :2thumbs:

    I've been to this site a couple of times and have seen some great looking rides. So, I figured before I do something stupid I'd ask the members here what would be the best idea(s) for a show car. My wife and I show the Duster from time to time, but it's not a show car, it will never win a Best in Show. My plan is to pull the motor, tranny, and interior this week. Then to drop off a rolling shell at the body shop the following week. I live in AZ and have never seen a Sassy Green, 440+6, Cuda at a car show, so other than the internet I don't know how it will look.

    Welcome  :wave: If it were me i would keep the 440 in it if your not concerned about numbers matching. Big block Cudas i think get more attention. Looks to me like ya good solid car for your project  :2thumbs: Its always good to hear a dream come true, i know mine did back in 1987 when i bought my AAR and my smile has never left  :bigsmile: I wouldn't sell my Cuda for all the money in the world.

    Thanks everyone for the welcome. 27 years ago while looking for Duster parts in a local junkyard I saw my first Cuda. Over the years I have gone all over the world and have never seen (IMHO) a better looking vehicle. As I got older the price tag for these cars has continued to increase, pushing my dream further and further away. This year I took a chance and bought one, which I still think is a dream!! During my 27 year wait I have had friends buy and show Cuda's; offering for me to drive or at least sit in thier cars...I never gave in. I simply told everyone I wanted to wait until I get my own. Now you know the rest of the story.  :bigsmile:

     :wave:  Welcome to the site!  There's nothing like a big block mopar, although the 340's can hold their own.  No matter what you do to it, as long as you like it, that is all that counts.  Keep us posted on your plans.
