Any real performance times on the SRT8 392? How much faster is it than the current SRT8?

Can anyone explain the benefit of R&D of a car like this, then to only make such a small number? Does it have to do with emissions or some governmental issue?

It just seems to stupid to me, a car that 'can' compete with the competition (Shelby for the $$), and they just cut themselves short. Challenger is already behind the competition, at least they could make the amount available to get them on the road!

There has been one track pass running around the net at 12.4 @109, but one pass doesn't say much.

The 6.4L Hemi isn't just for this limited edition. This is basically what the new SRT-8 will be like, except for the dress up paint and interior, so the R&D isn't just for a limited run car. As for the time, yes last week at Sears Point one ran a 12.44 @ 100 mph. Yes it is only one run, but being almost a second faster than a 2008-2010 SRT-8 (in similar conditions runs close to a 13.3) shows that the 2011 SRT-8 is one heck of a beast. Also should be noted that the car that made the 12.44 run was an autostick car, with stock Goodyear tires on it.

100 mph is awfully low for 12.44. I don't think that's possible even with perfect traction.

Good luck with the dealer mark up in this economy. It was bad enough when the 2008 SRT8 came out, and also last year when B5 Blue was another reason to gouge and turn away business. Like I told the dealer, the money is better in my pocket than in yours!

Are any of the dreamers that bought these cars (2008 SRT8) and "Trying" to sell them for up to 20K more actually getting any bites? Those ads just seem stagnant in the WTS ads (private and dealer) on the internet.

The Dodge dealer here in Memphis told me that they did not yet have pricing but that they would not have any additional markup. He said they did not mark up the Challenger when they were introduced in 2008 and that they would not mark up these either?? I guess we will see. He also stated that this was the only vehicle that was going to have the 6.4 in it and the a the SRT8 would keep the 6.1. Does anyone know for sure?
