Another wire question

IS this wire supposed to connect to the alternator?

I am not 100% sure but that looks like the one that goes on the brake proportioning valve but that has to go on the left side.

That just looks like a ground point, is that an original alternator? Most of the ones I have seen didn't require an additional ground to that stud. For the alternator to function there should be two female spade wires to the field, and a large output wire that goes onto the stud.
