Torq box pics

Red rag is the front ones. The back ones are where the leaf spring front bracket goes into.

I bought torque boxes from Sheet Metal Stuff.com at the at the Mopar Nats in 2009.  I just recently set them in place and I don't like the way the the both the front and rear boxes fit.  Lots of gaps and the angles that the metal is formed (stamped) isn't that close to the mating surfaces of my car.  I don't recommend them, at least for a 72 Cuda.  I'll probably end up getting some different ones.  Any recommendations for good fitting TBs?

The one's in China suck!! Be Careful!!

The mounting is way off. They are thicker in steel but you will end up needing to modify to squeeze them into position.

These are the front ones I bought on E Bay. No doubt Asian made. I ended up cutting, welding, then grinding to get them to fit.

Mike, that is good to know.  I was going to put a set on my 71 cuda.  What about the ones that Diago from Moparts make?  Do they fit better?

2 possibilities:

My car was assembled to tight on the clearances since it wasn't menu'd for them.

Or the one's from China really do suck like I said. Never got to try them to see if they would slide up into another E body.

Diego is a perfectionist on his sheetmetal. Could try Resto Rick also. He stands behind his stuff pretty well.
