A fair amount of people still have dial up. I have a really fast internet speed from ATT U-verse and I still resize all my pictures before I post them, plus people like me take pictures that are over 3000 pixels wide and who wants to view that online? I downloaded an image resizer for free (can't remember from where, I can find out though) and it allows me to resize entire folders which is awesome, saves me so much time. I just select the folder, then determine what size I want them resized to and whether or not to keep the originals and off it goes.
