1970 Hemi Orange vs. 2008 SRT Hemi Orange?
« on: November 23, 2010 - 12:10:01 AM »
How different is the old Hemi Orange compared to the new Hemi Orange.  To me the new Challenger Hemi orange looks a lot closer to Vitamin C.

Anyone paint their ebody with the new Challenger Hemi Orange?
The funniest thing about this particular signature is that by the time you realize it doesn't say anything it's to late to stop reading it.

You are correct.  Side by side they're not very close.  Mine was done using the 1970 code out of the book.  The new Hemi Orange doesn't seem to pop as much, especially in the light.  They might not be using as much metal flake.

They are actually closer then you might think.  These are both stock.

In that picture the '70 looks more like Vitamin C than Hemi Orange, but you can't get much out of pictures.  Mine was parked next to 2 '08s at a show when they first came out, and they were a few shades different.  The 08s looked more like Hugger Orange with just a little bit of flake.  Maybe they have changed it up a bit since the first run.

Yes, the 70 in the picture looks like Vitamin C.  Vitamin C is the color most think of when someone says Hemi Orange.

This is 1970 Hemi Orange (or Tor Red).

I think the easiest way to say it is the new Hemi Orange is more of an orange, while the original Hemi Orange is more of a red.

 :iagree:
hemi orange is closer to red, hence why its also called tor-red. Vitamin C, or Go Mango, has more of a tangerine hue to it, imo.

The engine hemi orange is also a slightly different color, as is the orange air filter cover color, or so I was told by someone at Totally Auto

SE rear window is the worst "feature" I can possibly think of.  Put in a smaller/harder to see out of rear window and call it an option?   :clueless:

Someone put this "option" in my non-SE car sometime in the past.  Can't wait to get rid of it!

Ya Im a bit curious why somebody would even want that, just seems like a hassle, and honestley does not look as well as the larger rear. Was there any purpose to it besides just to look different?

The SE rear window also came with the overhead console and more chrome trrm options.   Complete chrome around the top of the doors and back of the hood and fenders..............

The purpose of the roof was to make the car look more limo like or "formal", which is what it was called in 1971 when it was a seperate option.
