All years used studs except possibly 70's. They had screws for the windshield moldings, so logic dictates that the belt molding clips might be screwed on, too. If you have screws, the trim was probably added or the door was changed.

What's the source for "all cudas" ? I know Gran Coupes came with belt moldings as std. eqipment, but have seen few BS cars with it.

When i added it to my 70 barracuda the supplied hardware had one screw holding it to the front door frame.  I used the hole closest to the rear of the door as it was accessible without taking off the door panel.

The original molding I bought had the screw on the rear quarter panel molding.

70 doors had an all plactis push pin style clip, 71-4 had the studs on the door and used a slide on clip.
pic one is the 70, pic 2 is the 71-4

Thanks for the links. My latest guess is that a lot of these got permanantly removed by their owners who didn't like scorched arms on a hot, sunny day!

Weird.  That first link that CarelianCuda posted claims the 383 cuda had a "cuda" insignia on the glove box door.  There ain't no cuda insignia on the glove box door??

My 73 Cuda has belt molding, although I am missing the passenger door piece as the door has been replaced.

If anyone has one floating around, lemme know :2thumbs:

Ditto on my '73 Cuda, except what I'm looking for is the driver-side, which has a big ding in it.

So pardon, I'm a  :newbie:, but it looks by those attachments that mopardave posted, the removal technique for the belt molding is to press, slide (forward/backward?), then lift?  A little scared of forcing it...

Plans looks changed, also notice that '71-74 slap-stick on the '70 Dealership Data Book:

If you look closely, they have four slots in the bottom of the attachment that push in to the holes in the door. so, when pushed into the holes they collapse some and then expand.  To get them off, use a scraper or trim removal tool, slide it under the trim and twist it to a 45% angle ant they will pop out of the hole.  Be prepared to break some, as they are 40 years old and brittle.

Mopar Dave-
The Roseville web site does not have a price tag associated with the 71-74 Cuda Door Top molding Retainer Kit
[1000020].

to confirm then, for a 71,
remove by removing the one nut on the end, then prying up and twisting carefully on the trim, I guess starting on one end, and be prepared to buy the $40 kit.
What is the trim strip made of, and can minor pitting and scratches be removed by polishing?
Thanks.

I imagine its like the challenger one and made of stainless, which will polish up no problem....what does the pitting look like?
