Did some wire wheeling yesterday to remove the hastily applied black paint that was all over the inner fenders and firewall.  I found some hastily applied body filler too.  Is this the point where I go back in time and cancel the check I wrote for this thing?

It's all good....but here's what I found:

Don't you just hate surprises.  :eek4: At least you found it now. That's what I keep telling myself on mine.  :2thumbs:

EWW...Looks like your job just got a wee bit more complicated....  Kinda typical from what I've seen posted before.

I'm going through the same thing as you.  :bricks1: Every step I take, "surprise surprise surprise"! It's sure a good feeling when those surprises are repaired, though!  :working:

Um...ya think?  Seriously, I've already purchased the paint.  Once the suspension is completely removed (got the passenger side off this past weekend) I'll get to preppin'.  I'm planning to use Eastwood's rust encapsulator on the few areas with some surface rust.  Then some primer, a little filler, paint, and it'll be good as new.

On a side note, as I was typing this, this icon caught my eye -  :drama: - and I thought, for a moment, it said, "OBAMA MAKES ME WANNA KILL SOMEONE".  Funny!  But I digress...
:drama: funny the first time that caught my eye i thjought it said that.

O/T:  I would seek professional help if the President of the United States gives you that violent feeling.

nice challenger!  :ylsuper:

don't get discouraged about the rust. if you fix it right, you'll only have to do it once

at least in you lifetime

Thanks!  I got a good bit of the welding done yesterday.  Didn't snap any new pics (camera's on the fritz).  Hopefully, I'll get some updated pics together by next weekend.

Well, it's finally in primer.  Welding done, filling done.  It's not perfect but I never claimed to be a body man!  Now it's on to refinishing some small parts.

Looks great!

BTW...are you also  going to paint your hood hinges (and bolts), fender bolts, and battery tray?

Are you afraid that you may now want to re-paint your whole car?
