Here's the latest update:

The wiring is coming together; trans lines are bent and in; shift linkage connected; exhaust done; radiator done and in; steering column in; suspension is done; plus some other odds and ends.

I was hoping to get it running today but I don't think it'll happen, too many little things to get done first. 

Is it spring yet??

Thanks, Jackie.  I fired it up on Monday.  Oh, what a sound!  I went with the Comp Cams Thumper and boy, does it thump!  I'm anxious to take it out for a spin!  Oh, and hang in there!  Yours will be done before you know it!  If you need any help, just let me know...

Thanks for the offer. We have a Beat The Winters Blue at Old Country Buffet the 3rd week of March at 11:30 -1:00. You and your wife should come and meet some of the car show peps.  We'll prolly know some dates of shows by then. So what duration and lift did you use ? What stall speed torque converter ? I was thinking of going with a Thumpr cam. They sound nasty.

Nice job on the motor resto. I'm in the process as well, I was wondering where you got the engine paint? I ordered the Mopar engine paint for 318's from summit, it came and it's the wrong color blue, then they sent me the Duplicolor 318 engine paint, still wrong, I've been looking at my 318 for 36 years I know what it should look like. Anyway it looks like you've got the correct color, where did you get it, and what was the name of the color, any help would be great, thanx, Jeff ,

Thanks, Jeff.  The paint was from Napa and is Dupli-Color Chrysler Blue.  I wasn't all that concerned about having the EXACT color match but it looks pretty close to me.

Jackie - I'll check the cam card and let you know but I know it's a dual profile (different for intake and exhaust) in the .470" to .480" lift range.  I used the stock converter for now (Comp Cams told me it'd work ok) but not sure if I'll keep it that way.  Initially, it seems to be a bit much for the stock converter.  Won't know for sure until I take it out of the garage!

Here's the cam card.  Straight up it degreed at 100.  Called for 102 so it was pretty close.  I used Crower springs but couldn't tell you the rate, just that they're beefier than stock.  I bought the heads already done...

I noticed that you're uploading your pictures. When I first started here I postedand uploaded pictures. Many of my posts are now useless since the pictures got deleted.  Lots of good stuff too.  So before your thread gets really deep, then suddenly you get "image not found", then you lose you hard drive and pictures, I would upload your pics to Photobucket then edit all of your posts to point to them.   6 years from now, you'll wish that you did it.

Keep up the good work.  Very big difference between the look of the engine compartment.  From the look of the outside of the car, who would have known that area was so bad.

Thanks for the tip, Shelby.  You said a mouthful!  I've got the classic, "lipstick on a pig".  I purchased the car on Ebay and to my stupidity, took the seller's (a "classic car" dealer in Missouri) word on the condition of the car.  I can still remember his words, "You won't be disappointed!".  Needless to say, I was.  My fault though, I should have sprung for the ride and looked at the car in person.  In any case, it's ancient history.  All that's left now is to make it right, one winter at a time!  We'll call it a "rolling restoration".  Next year, the rear end, and a new floor pan!
