Hello all, new guy here
« on: November 28, 2010 - 06:42:37 PM »
I just want to start by saying "Great Site!" I have aquired my first Mopar, a dream I have had since I was 12! It is a 1970 Challenger SE. 360 w/ A/C, 518 OD, 8 3/4 w/ 391 gear. I hope the pics turn up. I do not want a show car but just something great to drive and work on. First thing I need to do is remove those flares around the wheel wells. They were welded on and I have no experience w/ body work, it will be a topic for another forum lol. I also want to replace those rims with Rallye wheels. In the future perhaps a R/T SE clone, maybe a big block. Thanks all, Matt

Welcome and Congrats on your new ride.  Car looks in great shape, except for the wheel flairs.   You'll like it on CC.com.  Great people with lots of knowledge and friendly advice.  Don't be a stranger.  :2thumbs:

"usraptr" = United States raptor - bird of prey = United States Bald Eagle.  FYI, somebody else thought of it first so I had to drop the "O" in raptor.

Welcome! Looks from the pics to be pretty clean. Some nice options too! In my opinion, they should all be drivers, no matter how much restoration work went into them. They are just such fun cars to drive.

Amen! What's the use in having it if it's under a car cover 24/7?

Thanks guys, as soon as I can Challenger III! lol, I don't understand why someone would do that. Well it gives me something to do, I just hope the quarters and fenders will not need to be replaced.....ugh

I seriously don't think they will need replacement! Believe me, I've seen WAY worse. There was a guy back in the day that had big fender flares and a "felt" pink paint job on a '70 Challenger! He had to "shampoo" his car to clean it. Kinda looked like the hairdo of the old G.I. Joe with the Kung Fu Grip!  :smilielol:
