Okay, now that I have fully troubleshot and corrected the warning lights in my upper consolette, I wanna go for something different, the key buzzer.
I know that the last two red wires on the steering column connector run the buzzer. One appears to be hot, and one appears to go to the buzzer. When hot is applied to the terminal that goes to the buzzer, the buzzer buzzes, so it must be working.
The question I have is that does the key-in switch simply close the circuit? It appears that way, vs completing a ground. If this is the case, I should be able to test the two red wires coming out of the steering column and that circuit should close (no resistance) if the switch works correctly.
If the switch is bad, I assume that the entire ignition switch needs to be replaced. Not likely worth doing if that is the case, but just wanted to know.
Thanks to all.
