Anyone ever use an under dash antenna?
« on: December 07, 2010 - 12:20:26 AM »
I would like to leave the mast off my antenna and use an underdash antenna.  Anyone ever try one of these units?

I'd be interested in hearing this as well. I don't have an antenna hole in my fender at the moment, and if I don't have to drill one I'd be happier  :)

I have an underdash antenna on my Cuda. It was recommended and installed by the restoration shop whose finishing up my build. I tested the radio once a few weeks ago when I visited my car in the shop -- it worked great. I will be getting my Cuda back within the next week or so. I can get details then on the brand and how/where it was installed.

Sorry, I didn't get my car until the end of December and it went straight into storage as a storm rolled in that day -- so I didn't get a chance to check out the antenna brand and details. My car is stored in a warehouse about 3 hours away. I'll be able to check it in the Spring.

Whatever You do, don't buy a regular amplified antenna and stick it under the dash.  It worked great sitting on the floor but not so good tucked up inside the dash.LOL
