Maintenance Manual Tools
« on: December 10, 2010 - 03:46:35 PM »
Again, I'm a newb here just trying to get my hands dirty and need some orientation.

I'm seeing a lot of tools that I need in the Maintenance Manual of my '73 Cuda.

Where can I order some of them?  Some seem pretty specialized and I'm wondering if they are remanufactored somewhere.  If so, are they referenced by their original Chrysler tool numbers in the manual?

Thanks.

You probably won't find the maintanence manual tools, many dealerships did not have them either...they are expensive to purchase.    Make do with your own basic set of tools, and borrow the oddball ones if possible.
For example, I bought a snap-on puller to remove transmission bearings...the puller jaws spread even though the tool had a link connecting the jaws...ended up using a press at the local machine shop.  Bearings came off easy.  So the right tool for the job, or improvise.  It is impressive what you can do with a hammer and punch.
