Kind of a resto-mod forum? Not a bad idea. Though a lot of it kinda overlaps if you go to search a particular forum. You'd have to search the "brakes" forum and the "restomod" forum if you are looking for something particular.
Is "modernizing" just adding things like true 100% custom built suspensions or crazy interior rebuilds where nothing is stock, which are sort of already covered in the exisiting threads, or would it cover "upgrades".....like when I added 1980 New Yorker front disks and the aluminum mc to mine.....bigger brakes, better stopping than the car had originally...technically that is "modernizing".....or the LED light strip I added to my exisiting dash lights......? Where would I post on those?
I think it would end up being a mix just like it is now.....which I actually like because "new" ideas can be mixed with the other options.....
In fact, I think a great deal of what we all do around here is "resto mod"......that would leave only stock, oem problems/solutions for the current "brake" section (for instance)......and I would guess that would be fairly low traffic....and that's IF everyone followed that tact......and often times it will be a discussion of why or how a particular mod is better/worse than the oem setup....where would that go? My guess is it would just end up being a duplicate section of what we already have....
Some forums I visit have a million different eeny teeny specific sections and its a pain. What I like about the way it is now, the forum sections are broken up into systems but are not so segregated as to split the forum into "cliques". If you would tend to post mostly in a resto-mod section, that might mean that you wouldnt see posts asking for help from people in the "oem" section, and vice versa...effectively segregating our family and squelchingt he ideas that flow here...I mean how many people actually look thru EVERY forum NOW regularly?
