Thanks to everyone. We had our differences but in the end he was a very good hearted man. He suffered years of addictions but through it all he always helped others with their problems despite his own. When I had found out that he died I was very sad to think that must had died alone when in fact the hospital said that over 30 people (mostly people he helped in NA/AA) had crowded his room in his final moments. When we were going through his apartment yesterday person after person came by telling us stories of how he had helped them out. I also found out by others that knew him that he was overly generous at times giving others money when in fact he could hardly make his own bills. So much I didnt know! God has a good place for him.

I was 16 when my father died, also of a heart attack, also after a long life of hardships. I can say with all honesty I feel your pain.

Sorry for your loss.  My Dad died last year.  Although we were not close it still leaves a hole in our lives.

It's a weird thing when your dad goes, even if you were not best buds like my dad and I were not. But he still taught me so much as I am sure yours did.
It gets good after a while but it's still a shock.
Excuse me if I have turned this into a story about me.
You'll be ok and it helps tons knowing how much he helped people while he was here.
