Anyone using 17" Rallye wheels?

I want (need) new wheels.... and I like the look of stock, but want a little more wheel.  Does anyone have or know of a company making a stock looking 17" rallye wheel?

Wheel Vintiques make one. I'm pretty sure they're made to order, and run about $500+ per wheel.

I've considered the 17" Rallye or Magnum 500 wheels for my car because I want to maintain the classic look with that modern twist. The wheels are incredibly expensive from Wheel Vintiques and MagnumForce. While I agree, Tom, it is very difficult to find a quality street tire anymore for that size.  And, when you start going larger, one starts to be very constrained by the narrow range of tire sizes that will work with a given width.

We are beginning to be prisoners to stylists when dealing with older cars.

You might try Stockton Wheels too.  They are a great Company and are easy to work with too.  They made up a set of Rallye Wheels for one of our Pro Street 71 Cuda's a few years ago.  We love the look of the Rally Wheels so we called Stockton and asked them if they could make us a set a lot wider than stock.  They took 2 wheels and made 1 extra wide wheel for us.  The Cuda I am talking about is the one Triple Black Hemi (Don) has now.

Really? Tried to find a good 16" performance tire lately?

17" rims are a good compromise for these cars. You can still get a decent sidewall size, and many more options as far as performance tires are concerned. It's amazing what a modern tire compound will do for your handling. Not to mention the shorter sidewall means less sidewall flex, which will translate into a more positive handling feel.

And personally, I think a 17" rim looks good on these cars. Although, I don't think the 17" rallyes look good. I believe these are 18's in the picture. I think this design would look a lot better if it were a little more "open", ie, if they made the holes a little bigger. Too much polished metal for me.

Agreed. Chrome doesn't help it much either. Steel or painted would look better.

Havn't seen the Wheel Vintiques version of the Magnum, so I can't comment on it - but American Racing make the Vintage 500 and looks great in 17".

I have to agree based on performance data, that is a very good all around street and track size.  The harder you push the corners, the wider you go (reason why us autox guys go to 9, 10, and wider)

Also as for the argument about sizes... 16s were used for YEARS on 80s and 90s Mustangs and Camaros.  While the pickings are getting slimmer, there's still a market for them.  Just like 15" tires are still readily available, they'll still be making 16" tires for a long time.

However, that being said, I like the 17" Magnum 500s the best out of the modern styled retro stock wheels.  The V48s (17" Minilite clone) have to be some of the sexiest around though for my tastes.

In a properly set up car there is no room in the wheel wells for a wider or taller tire wheel combination. Based on my experience - which is lots - this is the most optimum set up for the road or the road course for these cars. A bigger stick is not necessarily better.   When the sidewall gets too short the car rides like a brick and does not handle significantly better when put to the test. 26 inches tall of tire is all you need to fill the wheel wells and work in harmony with your suspension.  However I am not going to write an essay about it so I'm done.
