Hi Tommy,
Went to the car show tonite , your car looks great in person.   Tried to introduce myself, but never saw you at your car. Went inside for 1 beer and when I came out, you were leaving.  Maybe next month.  I saw 3 or 4 other Barracudas and a Chally.  Giving me alot more encouragement.

Dan

Hi Dan,
Thanks. My wife said someone called out my name as we were driving out. I assume that was you.
Last night was a little busier than usual, and I will probably be back next month, but I usually avoid the summer months. Too hot.
Hope to see you.

its a modern "vintage air" system, and the prior owner replaced the firewall and the dashpad when he restored the car 8 years ago.
The original systems are a PITA to keep running, so unless you have/want an original car you definitely should go with the modern system which are MUCH more reliable and efficient.
And of course the original compressor will not fit under a shaker bubble.

Thanks for the info.  Mine is an original Factory Air car and is numbers matching, so I'm going to keep it as is.  My plan is to take it to a Classic Car A/C specialist in my area.  Now...the Charger is NOT a Factory A/C car, and if I decide to resto-mod it, I'll definitely go the Vintage Air route.
Stay thirsty my friends!

Funny you mentioned I was not at my car. I tend to walk away and look at other cars, and even go eat while it sits in the parking lot with the hood and windows open....but I wont do that again. At least not at Bettys's Best. A car collector friend of mine says that very night last month two cars were stolen in plain sight. A thunderbird and a trans am.

And thanks for the compliment hpe. I enjoy just looking at it in my garage sometimes. It is nearly perfect cosmetically inside and out. Always something though. I now need to replace the clutch. Started slipping a couple months ago and I dont want to ruin the flywheel.

was able to use a lift at a friends garage and did a little underbody maintenance today:

Long term projects include installing torque boxes front and rear. In picture 5 on the left you can see where my crappy shorty header flange rubs a steering knuckle, and in picture 9 you can see the capped end of my fuel return line on the left. Connecting the return is another little project I hope to get to soon.

The car was restored but not rotisseried, and the body looks very good for a new england car. The trunk pan and the drivers side floorpan were replaced, as well as the rear half of the left rear trunk frame rail. A little surface rust here and there but nothing serious. I also want to wand some rust encapsulator inside the frame rails one of these days.

Really cool pics!  It's cool to see all the colors juxtaposed like that, and your car is my dream!  I love the chrome bumpers instead of the body color too.  To me it gives it a more 70's feel.
