I'm considering using, if i can find a nice one, an aftermarket.....OR handmade.....OR late model challenger console for between the front bucket seats in my '73 Challenger.  Just wondering if anyone has used any aftermarket source OR from another US production vehicle OR the 2008 to 2011 challenger factory console that looks nice.  I'm presently without one.  thanks, scott

I am getting ready to put a 09 console in my 70 love cup holders and armrest you get in the new ones.

shifter location is the biggest issue especially if you have a 4 speed. an auto with an after-market cable shifter would be easy.

I lovethem too.  Are they available used or is it something that needs to be purchased OEM at the dealership?
My 73 is an automatic with 727 too, and I love the idea of an armrest. Scott

A used 2008 - 2011 challenger console would be cheaper than ordering a new one from dodge. when I priced it out it was around $600 they don't offer it as a complete unit so you have to order each part individually. I paid $150 for one from Cleveland pick a part and it came with the light up cup holders with leather armrest and carbon fiber surround.

Any suggestions on finding a used one?  I looked locally but to no avail.  I do love the look of them too.  My interior's white with black carpeting and I think this set up would look great!  I'll keep looking.  Eveything else i've seen just doesn't cut it.  Thanks again, scott

This what what I thought he meant. Used is the cheaper ROUTE, but what years are we talking about to make it work with our 70-74's ??? :dunno:
He never mentioned the fact that maybe he was talking about a newer 09 and up Challenger ?  I just did not understand his line of thinking and his thoughts.

I fixed it so its understandable  :bigshades:

Sorry I was very sleepy when I wrote that and it made since to me at the time.  :screwy:

I don't have it installed yet but will start on it next week and post up pictures. My biggest challenge will be capping the end were the console on the new challenger attaches to the dash. I my extend the late model console to reach the 70 dash  :dunno: I'll think of something. (maybe a gps screen or something that blends in)

Cool, PICS would be great!
Fitting an 09 interior piece into a vintage chally i think is still keeping with the mopar heritage and not bastardized  :clapping:  Altering and updating, yet keeping the challenger kinda like 'still factory' so to speak is OK and pretty neat in my mind.
I'm gonna keep lookin' and hope I'm as lucky as you in finding a fairly priced console unit.  I am curious as to how you can tie in the front end portion of the unit.  Now, i'm getting excited!

I used one from a 1999 300m and cut the part off that went to the dash.
Cup holders and arm rest are nice
