emergency break set ups
« on: December 15, 2010 - 10:32:33 PM »
Hey guys I am almost done with my car and I just realized that I need to re-do my emergency break system or just get it working again. How difficult is it to get the parts for this, how hard is the installation. If anyone has any location on the parts  needed please dont hold back.

Do you know what all parts are required? I am not sure what all is missing I just know the lever is still there pretty much. I was hoping there would be a kit or something.

if your pedal and release lever is all intact you need a kit like this
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/71-72-73-74-Challenger-Emergency-Brake-Cable-OM-_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQhashZitem5195bb1ba1QQitemZ350404418465QQptZVintageQ5fCarQ5fTruckQ5fPartsQ5fAccessories

then attach the cables were there suppose to attach,,the kit has E-brake cable kits include all of the following parts: Front Cable, Intermediate Cable, Rear Cables (2), Clips & Equalizers.,,these should be all the parts needed,,the picture shows everything,,when you attach the cable to the pedal it will then run under the car were the hook connects to the cross member if i remember correctly and  the other pieces and 2 other cables will branch off and run to each rear wheel

Just so you know, (if you don't already), there are 2 different types of cable routing set ups. You should check the cables at the rear drums (and any others you may have) to make sure you get the right type. I believe Inline Tube and Right Stuff both offer complete kits.
