Can't find my buns
« on: December 17, 2010 - 11:20:31 PM »
I can find seat foam for '70 & '71 Cuda seats and '73 & '74 but not for my '72. Does anyone know why the '72 foams aren't available and if it matters much if I use another year foam and my correct year covers. Thanks!

70 to 71 foams are different, will not work with your stock 72 covers,,,I don't know about the 73 to 74 other than they don't have the hard plastic back which would make some difference,,the bottom may be the same but I don't know for sure

Sorry, no idea about the seat foams but the title of this thread made me curious/giggle....  :roflsmiley:

Your best bet will probably be to rebuild the foam.  I'm not sure if Cuda's are the same as Challengers, but you can not buy foams for 72 and up, because the foam was basically part of the seat bottom.  As a result, when I had mine recovered, the shop just used their own foam and rebuilt what was left.

I thought that title might get some attention :feedback: My foam is pretty rough especially on the outside of the drivers side. I guess I'll see what they can do with these. Thanks!

Did you not have to replace your foam? Thanks

when I did mine I found a good bottom foam from an original seat out of a 73,to replace my only foam that I could not use,, my backs were fare and only had to add a little extra padding on one side and I  was good to go,,its a pretty hard job to do it yourself but has lack of funds I tackled mine and they turned out good,,as the 72 has a type of wire frame that attaches on the cover and pulls it up to the foam ,,the bottoms are not has hard,,I found one good bottom on ebay and stretched mine to it,,and just the foam can be used on either side doesn't matter if its passenger or drivers,,I cant remember if the backs will swap or not
