Another Newbie
« on: December 21, 2010 - 10:28:59 AM »
Well lets see here.....Im 24 years old and I own a 1970 Dodge Challenger R/T. 383hp with a 727 backed up by the 8 3/4. My car has origally 28,xxx. The dmv would not put that mileage on the title because the car was not registered for over 20 years. But when you look at this car you can see its true. I live in WI. and the car has been here its entire life. Its top bannana yellow, has the original top and interior. The only thing that Iam doing to it is repainting it. Even the underside of the car has all the original paint!! Ill be posting some pics tonight when I get home! Its great that I can get payed at work and be on this site!! haha :newbie:

Welcome.

Please tell us what history that you know of on your car. Do you have the build sheet, tags, and all the docs it originally was with it? Pics would be great.

Well history on my car is pretty short. The 2nd ower is who I bought it from. He bought it in 1974 and drag raced it for 2 years. Then stored it away until I bought it in 2006 on my birthday. He had cut the original hood and put a crazy scoop on it. Other than that nothing has been modified. I found a build sheet in my car but it was for a burt orange r/t with bumble bee stripe. It came off the line a couple of cars before mine. Mine is top bannana with a bumble bee stripe. I do have the fender tag. She has quite a few good opions on it. Chrome sport mirrior, wheel lip moldings....ect Ill dig up all the code later.

Very nice.  Can't wait to see some progress.  Let us know how we can help.

Please consider sending the errant build sheet to Barry Washington here on this site as he works to reconnect owners with their missing paperwork/parts.  In fact, you can look on his site to see if someone has turned your build sheet in!

WELCOME!

I forgot to say my Challenger R/T was built on Sept.11,1969. Its a early build I beleive. Im going to be making my car a 50/50 survivor/restored. Orig. vynal top, interior, engine, trans, rearend, trim, glass, and undercarrage. The only thing I am doing is painting the car and rebuilding everything to stock specs.

I will be painting it back to original. Top Bannana with Black Bumble bee stripe. I have the data tag, but no build sheet,
I beleive my car did not come with the hood stripe, just the bumble bee stripe.
