When buying a compressor you have a few choices.
The Sanden SD4 is the basic, cheapest unit that will get the job done.
I've used Sanden SD7 which is a heavier duty, better quality and more efficient unit (based on advice from my AC bloke)
Dimensionally there is little difference between the two.
The SD7 is obviously more expensive but not outrageously so.
Burnouts are cool but Traction is the Action

What application, car/model year can I look up?  When I check Summit, they show 508 or SD-7, are the mounting positions and the inlet/outlet ports all in the same spots.  They list at least 10-15 PNs.

Mate,i'm not an AC expert.
I just know enough to be dangerous :stirpot:
What i know is just what I've picked up from my AC contractor.

However,in the Summit list you quoted it appears the SD7 for $274 is the one I was advised to use.
Apparently smaller compressors build up too much head pressure resulting in blown out seals.

Main thing to watch for is that you get a compressor with the outlets on the side of the casing, not at the rear.Otherwise you'll never fit your sixpack on.

Thx for the help, I went to the Sanden website and there are hundreds of PNs.  I'll give Vintage Air a call next week to see what they recommend.

Merry Xmas!
