Interesting.

Can we see more e-body fittments?  Also, does the shifter handle poke exactly through the factory 4-speed hump hole?

I'd prefer a .70 OD ratio, but .67 is better than the deep drop of the TKO's .64.

I'm all wigged out now by this 2-3 shift. I installed the Keisler kit in my car, but have yet to road test it.

Any info. On the trade in deal?

Ehhh... It's one those things you get a feel for.I've shifted clean at 6500rpms. It can be done. Like I said...they are close together. And most slam through them by habit.Myself included especially lined up.So you need to relax and get the job done.I've been considering a shifter upgrade with an adjustable handle to get it dialed. But now I'd like to upgrade if it's possible. Thank you for the info Shafi, I sent in a quote request a week ago and haven't heard anything, any idea where it might be. I know the holidays mess stuff up.

We will have press releases on every model showing this.  Join our newsletter so you can be notified.

The RPM difference between .70 to .67 at highway speed is very small - typically less than 100rpm.  Depends on the diff ratio.  Use our speed analyzer to understand the differences for a real world example.  Anything in the .62-.70 is good for highway.  .80-.90 is good for Road Course Racing.

Kyle - don't be wigged, but understand that it takes finese to speed shift a TKO, and you will hit a physical limitation at 6500 more or less depending on how much weight you are slinging on the clutch.  The 10.5inch dual (twin) discs will really kill your high rpm shifting with a TKO.

machining of your bellhousing at no charge (or a discount on our new bellhousings),

I'm confused.  I thought that this new RS has bolt patterns for an 833?

"RS main case, and features no less than three bellhousing bolt patterns: GM Muncie/T10, Toploader, and Chrysler A833. This means less cost and easier adaptation."

Bolt pattern, yes. Bearing retainer diameter, no.

The new main case coming online Q2 has the correct A833 bolt pattern AND the correct retainer diameter (for 18spline and 23 spline apps).

I was interested in the trans as well, so I asked and here is the info I received in an hour or so.
I was asking about the differances between the TKO and RS.

"The RS is based on the Borg-Warner T45 that was produced from 1996-2001. It is basically a 5 speed version of the T56 6 speed and will handle higher rpm shifts better than the TKO. They are equal as far as strength goes. Fit is a big difference between the two at this time.

The TKO will have the proper shifter position and not require any modifications to the torsion bar crossmember. Currently, the RS is not engineered for fitment into an E body but will be in about a year. The shifter position would be centered in the tunnel rather than be offset to the side and will be farther forward by about 5". The center section of the torsion bar crossmember would need to be removed in the tunnel as well.

The close ratio box will have ratios of 2.80 1.99 1.33 1.00 .67 o/d.

Hopefully this clears things up a bit."

Hello Keisler, welcome to the site, I have your TKO 600 just itching to get in my Challenger,
Just a bit hung up waiting for the oil pan set up from Milodon so i can get the egine in and then trans mounted.

Am I reading this correct that there sill be no new RS for an E-Body for a year, and when it does come out it will not fit in the stock location? I guess that would be why Keilser is not answering my e-mail or phone call request for a RS in an E-Body.

You're half correct. As I read it:

"Currently, the RS is not engineered for fitment into an E body but will be in about a year."

It will be a year before a correct fitting E-Body version is on the market.

"The shifter position would be centered in the tunnel rather than be offset to the side and will be farther forward by about 5". The center section of the torsion bar crossmember would need to be removed in the tunnel as well."

If you were to use the current RS in an E Body, these are the problems you would encounter.

The E Body engineered RS will attend these issues.

Being a year out kinda kills it for me even if they do make it fit. I think I will just go with the TKO-600 and atleast I know the demons that I am going to get with it rather then get something that isn't tested and might be worse in the end. I hope I am proven wrong though....

I installed a tremec 5 speed in my 64 Vette that I got from Keisler. Once you get over the sticker price, you are going to love it. I followed their instructions precisely and it went it just right with no problems. It shifts like a dream. If I had the money, I would get one for my 70 Challenger project.
