H4 bulb conversion
« on: December 27, 2010 - 03:18:00 AM »
Anyone do this swap on a cuda or chally yet? I saw that Zoops makes the housing in the right size, but i would think that even a new factory harness would be a fire waitin to happen with those bulbs current draw.

I used Volvo H4 aftermarket housings. Check 120 and 140 models from 60s and 70s.
Fit perfectly in the stainless ring.

With relays and upgraded wiring it's a snap somebody has a wiring drawing to do this on here.

Several options out there. Bosch, Hella, Delta and more all make quality H4 conversion lamps.

The most important thing to do is make sure what ever you get has either DOT or ECE (E-code) certification. Everything else is suspect to be junk optically. You may not consider this important as the driver of the equipped vehicle, but I assure you that oncoming traffic considers this to be very important.

Site isn't up anymore  :sadwavey: The how-to's should have made it over to here under the threads I've posted.

I do have some LEDs around here somewhere (w/DOT #s), they may get stuck in the Wrangler though  :grinyes:
