Would this Hemi be fine for my vertproject?
« on: January 01, 2011 - 02:33:23 PM »
Found this ad about parts for a 472 Hemi which is what I would like to have in my chally. Now, with the 10.7 cr pistons and that cam, will it be a "calm" streetable
torquebastard the way I want it or will it be to wild for a cruiser with shaker?

Sounds like a great deal to me.

Roller cammed Hemi's require the block to be notched so the push rods will clear. Get the Fel Pro premium head gaskets and consider switching to a solid roller cam if you want it to be the upmost responsive.

Sounds complicated Mike, maybe I should just keep the block and heads that I have and buy that strokerkit you recomended a while ago. Thought of selling my parts and buying these to get a little bit further for the same money.

I think I paid $2,399.00 for the stroker kit. But that included custom Diamond pistons which were 200 additional.

If you go with yours, get the block and heads done at the machine shop first. The reason is: the stroker kit will require to know what your adjusted deck height and head CC's are. Mine is a solid lifter cam. They're more work to keep adjusted but Hemi's perform better with a solid.

I have the parts list on all that's required to build a Hemi if you're interested. Just send me an e-mail and I'll send it to you.

One more thing: Request for a K-1 stroker crank. The journals are better polished. May still need an additional clean up right out of the box.

May have to stick with what I have, ain't the best time of the year to sell parts that
are a little bit pricy. :eek4:

Hi Bart and Beste wensen. Nothing is wrong but it's just block, heads and rockerasembly, by selling that here I thought I could get approx the same amount as what the parts in the ad would cost and by that come what closer to a complete
engine.

If I ship it together with the parts from Alan and the sheetmetal I still need I would say more or less nothing.
