    Challenger Trunk Paint Question.

    Is the inside of the Trunk on a 1973 Challenger supposed to be painted body color? If so was there a texture to it. If I remember correctly, the quarters inside the trunk had under coating and sprayed body color over that. Any Trunk pictures would be appreciated. If I don't go with body color can anyone post pictures of what they did in Their trunk? Any help would be appreciated.

    It should be body color.  :2thumbs: Mine is painted over the under coating on the quarters in the trunk. I'll try to find pics.

    The rear quarters had sound deading (undercoating) applied before body paint.

    We used 3m Rocker Schutz on the inside of my quarter panels. Provides the right texture and it's paintable. You do however have to the have the special schutz gun to spray it. Most auto paint supply store have probably got one they will loan out. Hope this helps.

    The quarters were sprayed the entire length inside with undercoating prior to the quarter being fitted on the car.

    Well i went for a non-orignial look. I sprayed color tinted Raptor liner in my trunk and on my floors. It is extremely hard stuff and should provide a bit of sound deadening. the color was a bit off, but most of it will be un-noticed.     :bigsmile:

    My 74 has the trunk floor completely painted body colour and basically heavy overspray on the inr 1/4's over the "undercoat", that includes the rear body pnl and lock support.

    Tinted bed liner gives you your color and texture in a single coat.

    Nice, that's what I figure to do to mine as well. I'm not one of the chalk mark brigade and she'll be driven. nice subframe connectors, too.

    Agreed. :cheers: The bottom of my car is painted same as the top side, but I'm still gonna drive it. I don't even own a trailer to put it on. I'll just have to clean alittle more than most.
