RT Specialties?? Still in business .... No Answer......
« on: January 07, 2011 - 07:02:58 PM »
Does anyone know if someone is monitoring the email for parts at RT Specialties?   I sent a couple of messages before Xmas and they haven't responded.   They had been recommended as a great supplier for those hard to find, but important fasteners and other that they list.   Just wondering if anyone else had a similar experience over the last month??

Cheers .... CHAPS

He is VERY tough to get a hold of! VERY! I usually just go to Dave at Roseville as he gets what ever I needed from Tom anyhow? But quicker.... ::)

Tom has always treated me good. I've bought a ton of stuff from him in the last two years with no problems at all. He is harder to get ahold of at times, especially during show season. Just be patient.

It's barely worth the effort of dealing with him.  Think he's bad via phone/internet, try him at Carlisle!  WOW  :bricks1:

If Dave can get you what you need, go that route.

If he can't afford at least an answering machine or a call taker, he won't be along much longer. :2cents:

Wow ... that sure stirred up some ghosts!   I guess the guy is running a hobby business and could care less if he takes care of his customers.   At least that seems to be the consensus ... from here and the charger site.

Thanks  for the feedback.   I am already dealing with Dave at Roseville on shaker parts.   He is a stand up guy .... business oriented ..... straight goods.

Thanks folks .... CHAPS

He may be a great guy...but I've e-mailed him 4 times and never received a response.

For what it's worth, I've met him at my local yearly show more than once and he always seems to have what I need at a reasonable price. He seems pretty knowledgable too which I really like.

I could tell you horror stories of Year One and Laysons and not just one time but story after story of really bad experiences. After chasing parts for 20 years, I am soooooo thankful there are finally other vendors to choose from. I will take "hard to get a hold of" over "terrible customer service, extremely high prices, outrageous shipping costs" any day of the week but that's just me.

Okay, I'll get off my soapbox now...

Gary let me know what your looking for. I generally have the common stuff in stock. I usually talk to Tom a couple times a month. Yes he is hard to get a hold of but when your a one arm bandit... things do slow down,

If you order stuff online you will get it. He has yet to reply to any of my emails (RT). Dave at Roseville is the guy to talk to. :clapping:

thanks Dave .... I will package the items I need with the shaker set up that I order.   That are mostly unique screws and nuts that I am after.  I am re-assembling slowly.  Do you happen to know the various clips required to install the belt moulding for that 70 Challenger?

Thanks again .... Gary
