Just a little chilly this morning.   Fortunately, it warmed up later in the day... to zero.

Right around where I want to live......   I've been half heartedly looking at realestate around Huntsville. Property taxes are really getting crazy here in Barrie.

I am just far enough north of Huntsville that I am out of Muskoka.  I am in Northern Ontario as they class it, much cheaper taxes, car plates, energy rebates etc.  Been here for 4 years,  was in Bracebridge for 5 years  {very expensive}  Taxes are half what Muskoka Township's are.  On a well to so no high water bills Bracebridge was $100.00 month for only 2 people.  Bought a brand new house on 1.5 acres, last  years taxes were $2000.00

I'm almost double that, with my own well and septic, no sidewalks, street lights etc... :blah: :blah:.  That and it's to "developed" for my liking and too many people!

How about New Jersey's schizoid Weather
2 weeks ago: 60 degrees f in last week of January
1 week ago: 30 inches of snow (Morris County)
All the snow melted when it warmed to high 50's f
Valentine's Day, it hit 0 degrees F
The day after it is 30 degrees F and snowing?

It was -10F when I left for the airport on Monday and was snowing when I returned with about 24" on the ground. By Tuesday afternoon it was 55F, pouring rain and almost all of the snow is gone.

Weather gone nuts!

Well my town broke a record for most snow fallen in 24 hours yesterday. 51.2 cm's of snow. That's just over half a meter of snow in 24 hours. It was carnage even for a Canadian City. 1/3 of our entire city's busses were marooned in the snow. I pushed 5 cars yesterday out of the road, 3 hours to commute home, shovelled for three hours BUT I'm not complaining.

I met some neighbours I had never seen before, we were all in the same situation and there wasn't f-all we could do about it so we enjoyed some beers in the snow till the plow allowed us to connect to civilisation again. I'm going to go skiing on Friday and keep on smiling. I will take winter over extreme heat any day!

I really do love living in Ottawa  :canada:
