I think you should volunteer to drive it down to Panama for him.  :naughty:  :burnout:
I was thinking I could volunteer to drive it every summer just to keep the fluids moving around and the engine oil circulating once in a while? :burnout:

Sounds good ...... but have you ever heard of a country call Honduras ?
Over 8800 murders / year there & you have to drive across it , Afganistan is less dangerous  !!

I have heard of Honduras! I used to work in Refugee Security Screening here for Canada Border Services and heard many bad stories, its appalling the conditions is many of those countries. I was always surprised at the treatment in Caribbean Countries that many people travel too for vacations not knowing what goes on in the background. I am lost good friends with a buddy from Guyana who regularly goes home and comes back with a "next tribe/village over killed a guy by..." story. He often travels with extortion money to pay off the random road tolls.

I guess your options are air freight or by Boat? Either way, the point here is I applaud you for managing to live without your car nearby. It killed me when I lived downtown and my car was a 20 minute drive away at my parents house. Is your car fully restored?

as for snow, since my car is sitting in my garage without an engine awaiting a 360 swap...I could go for some skiing!

I can think of a period of 3 years total when I lived where my car was , not bad for owning it for 35 years .
I really have no clue why I own it , I guess I refuse to give up on it or maybe it is the only thing I have kept through everything , I am far to poor to own it , I have been wiped out financially 4 times soon to be 5 I believe , I have been offered stupid $$ for it but the $$ means nothing to me , I love the car even though I rarely enjoy it , I spent some time searching for it & wanted a real r/t 4 spd in purple , although it was white from 80 - 2010 as I could not afford to restore it .
When I die this will be another magazine story about a car owned most of ones life but too poor to do the car justice , so far it has just 42,000 original miles on it , 37k when I bought it

Just curious what does it cost to ship a car there?

I believe as Cryco stated before it's more a legal/bribe situation down in Panama.

I'd be super concerned with theft too - it's not like these cars are hard to steal. I am pretty sure I could put my house key in the ignition and turn the key.

Chryco sorry to hear about your situation!

I need to build a garage to keep it safe first , then it is 25% of the value to import in taxes , so is it worth $600 or 500,000 being a 45 year old car ?

Denver is in the middle of a blizzard warning and schools cancelled today.
